Older and discontinued implants
Many people still have implants placed 20 or 30 years ago. Here are some well-known older systems.

| Brånemark original (Nobelpharma) | The first commercial titanium implants from the 1970s–80s, with an external hex. Many are still in patients' mouths. |
| Steri-Oss | A 1990s external/internal hex system later taken over by Nobel Biocare. |
| NobelReplace Select / Replace Tapered | Earlier tri-channel versions of NobelReplace. |
| ITI Hollow Screw / Hollow Cylinder | Early Straumann (ITI) designs, forerunners of today's Tissue Level implant. |
| Frialit-2 | Stepped-cylinder German implant, predecessor of Xive and now part of Dentsply Sirona. |
| IMZ | German implant with a shock-absorbing insert, used in the 1980s–90s. |
| 3i external hex / Osseotite Certain | Earlier Biomet 3i systems, forerunners of ZimVie's T3. |
| Paragon / Screw-Vent | The original internal-hex Screw-Vent, later Zimmer's Tapered Screw-Vent. |
| Astra Tech OsseoSpeed TX | The previous Astra Tech generation, replaced by the EV system. |
| Straumann Bone Level (BL) | Parallel predecessor of the BLT, using the same CrossFit connection. |
