Other ways to identify an implant

X-ray – the shape, threads and connection are visible on an X-ray. Experienced dentists and specialist labs can often recognise the system.
Look at the abutment or screw – when a dentist removes the crown, the connection and screwdriver shape give strong clues.
Contact the manufacturer – major manufacturers help dentists identify their own implants from X-rays.
Ask the original dentist – even if the clinic has closed, records may have been transferred.
